Do you know that feeling when it’s like your head is about to explode? When you get that it means it’s time to ”reset” your mind. It’s very important to do this from time to time, so while I was brainstorming for a new blog post I thought this would be the perfect topic to share with you today! So enjoy my dear readers! X
1. Did you clean up your room?
A messy environment is quite a good representation of what your mind looks like from the inside.
A clean house/room is the perfect way to clear your mind from stress. Trust me, I know all about this. I spent my entire Monday cleaning up my room because I was constantly postponing it lol. No just kidding, my mom threatened me with her chancletas and I am not risking my life over some dust and flying underwear!!
But, I’ll admit that once I was finished I felt like a heavy weight was lifted off my shoulders. So thanks mom, for being my Motivational Monday. It worked. ❤️
Pff, why am I always so complicated by postponing it? I guess that’s something I have to work on myself. Anyway, it’s clean, nice and neat now, so I promise myself and my mom and you guys that it will stay like this forever. ✌🏽
I’m advising preparation instead of planning, because you can only plan so far ahead and when things don’t go as planned, it is preparation that can safe the day, not your planning. A good preparation gives you a certain certainty and with that comes of course a peace of mind.
As humans we’re always busy. We have our responsibilities and with that comes stress, so if you know how to prepare for certain things you need to do during the day, you’ll make it a lot easier for yourself. Sometimes preparing can be a little impossible but then I would suggest to just go with the flow. Worrying won’t help if the situation is out of your control, and if it is, then there’s still no need to worry!
My old teacher from primary school used to tell us that going to bed early is very good for your health. You don’t even have to fall asleep right away. Just the fact that you’re lying down, puts your body and mind in a relaxing state. Plus, you’ll be well rested the next day. So it’s a win win situation! For my fellow readers out there who have a hard time falling a sleep, I’d suggest taking a look at the next tip!
4. Be more active
Wether it’s walking for an hour or hitting the gym on a daily basis, living a more active lifestyle is a good way to clear your mind from stress and whatever is worrying you. For a moment you can put your thoughts on nothing but your activity. You’ll gain lots of energy from this and it’ll be more likely to fall asleep faster because working out can be pretty exhausting! It’s well known that working out is a great stress reliever, so I would highly suggest doing this one.
5. Relax, take it eaaaaaasy!
Please, take some time to relax. Go to a spa, play your favorite videogames, take a powernap or go see Deadpool 2. Whatever’s considered relaxing to you, do that!
Like I said earlier, we’re always busy with this and that, but to take some time off to actually take care of ourselves is a must and just as important as all your other priorities.
Because in order to function well, your mind and body needs to be at the right place, so don’t look at it as wasting time but instead investing it into a better self.
6. Bye phonelicia!
Do you know how much impact our smart-phones have on us? In this day and age we are very dependent of our phones. We are constantly updated about what happens in the world, or in someone house. And I’m not gonna lie, it is fun and entertaining but it can be very energy draining too.
For example: We need to go to sleep, but we’re still scrolling through our Insta or Twitter feed. We’re on our phones while we’re sitting in the bus, waiting in line, we’re even checking out 9GAG while pooping. Or is that just me? It’s just me? Oh ok, forget about what I just said, then!!
To distant yourself from this lifestyle for a while, so you can connect with yourself (and nature) again, has a very healing effect on the mind. Just not feeling the urge to take the perfect photo of your food but instead eating it while it’s still hot and with that living your life less timeline focused, is very rare and that’s why I’m suggesting it, so you could experience it yourself. I do it very often myself, because I think it’s very important to not get caught up in the digital world too much.
