Obstacles. Some are harder than others, but still. We all have to face them and deal with it, one way or another. How to overcome them, all starts with having the right mindset. And let me be the one to guide you through everything you need to know!
Since it’s still January and also my very first blog post of the year, I think it’s not too late to wish all of you a wonderful 2019, right!? And if it is then… Well, better late than never!
To each and everyone of you reading this: I hope for this new year to be filled with new challenges, positivity, good vibes, self-love & success. Let 2019 be the year of growth and living life to the fullest. 💙
Now, back to the blog post! The obstacle of life. We all know ’em, but we don’t know ’em all. It doesn’t matter what it is you want to achieve, there will always be a curveball just around the corner, waiting for you to pass by so that it can hit you in the face.
We make the perfect plan to get from A to B but let’s face it, we can only plan so much. It doesn’t matter how well-thought the planning is, there will always be something you won’t see coming. And that’s alright. See, the most important thing to dealing with those shituations 💩 is to accept it. It is there for a reason, which is to teach you something valuable about life. Once you understand this, you’ll automatically change your mindset.
I often speak about having the ”right mindset” in my blog posts, and I’ll never not mention it. Because everything starts with the mind. It is constantly communicating to us and if we are not aware of what is being communicated, then it eventually will have a negative impact on our lives.
What this has to do with facing obstacles is.., A LOT.
It doesn’t matter what it is you want to change or achieve, wether it’s losing weight, getting a degree or buying a house, there will always be an obstacle, one way or another.
For instance you’re studying hard to get degree but then a loved one passes away, you planned to invest money in something important but then you lose your job, you’re working your butt off to lose weight, but then you get sick.
Now keep in mind, these are just a few examples out of thousands, but it is something that can really happen. Your world then falls apart and that is the perfect moment for negativity to slip in. You’re now far away from the routine, the positivity, motivation and hope.
Since we are all human beings and have bodies that are filled with emotions, it is inevitable to not feel miserable when you face an obstacle. You can’t be positive and happy all the time. I know it sounds weird, but to be balanced is to be both happy and sad, positive and negative, hopeful and doubtful. That is what keeps you moving. If you lean towards one side only, it will become an unhealthy obsession, and that is not something you want. Having too much of anything is not what fulfills. Strive for balance.
To overcome the obstacles is to give yourself time to work things out. To pick yourself up from the ground and to make room for positivity and hope. But that takes time. Everything in life happens at the right time and moment, so why should you feel the need to rush the healing process? STAHP IT!
By giving up you are 100 percent sure of failing. But if you make one step a day in the right direction then you are one step a day closer to what you wanted to achieve in the first place. There is no way to stop obstacles from appearing so don’t waist your time on finding a way to avoid it. Instead we have to find a way to deal with them, so that we can learn and grow from it.
The trick with fighting against obstacles is to constantly remind yourself why you wanted to do that -something- in the first place. Let that be your motivation. Sure it will not be easy, but no one can and will do it for you.
Instead of looking at it with fear, don’t think about it too much. To truly live life is to stop planning, stop being ”prepared” for things that are out of your control. To truly live life is to go with the flow.
As a wise man once said:
If there is a solution to a problem, then there is nothing to worry about. The only question then is: are you ready to solve the problem?
Stop focussing on what you’ve lost, how far you still have to go or whatever thoughts are toxic for your mind. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself time. Look at what you can do now, instead of what you could have done.
I can’t say it enough boo, but stop putting so much pressure on yourself. And since we live in 2019 it’s also important to say:
Real life is only perfect because of it’s imperfections. And on social media we can create the illusion of life being perfect by not sharing the imperfections. Don’t be fooled.
And yes, it is the shit moments that teaches us the most, unfortunately. Is it fun? No. But will it teach us the things to make us mentally, physically and spiritually stronger? Hell Fucking Yes.
So don’t give up so fast now. Embrace the obstacle and beat it’s ass. Because honey, you can. You are stronger than you know.
